Onam Ashamsakal meaning Happy Onam!! Onam is an annual Hindu festival with origins in the southern state of Kerala in India.

It is the New Year day for Malayali Hindus. Onam celebrations include Boat races, tiger dances, Pookkalam(flower arrangement), Tug of war, Kazhchakkula (plantain offerings).

Again as the creative committee co-chair, my team and I set off to explore a new culture and plan a fun collegiate event. Women wear white and golden traditional sarees and the men wear white shirts with a white veshti with golden borders (long piece of cloth tied around the waist). Food is served on a plantain leaf which include 21 different preparations all prepared by the students.
